Living with the pain of arthritis is a challenge for patients, their carers, employers and clinicians. The Osteoarthritis Technology Network led by Cardiff University is delighted to host a public lecture by Professor Philip Conaghan MBBS PhD FRACP FRCP, Director of the Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine at the University of Leeds, and Director of the newly awarded NIHR Leeds Biomedical Research Centre.

His research focuses on understanding the causes of, and developing effective therapies for, common arthritis and joint problems. He has previously chaired NICE osteoarthritis clinical guidance, is co-editor of the Oxford Textbook of Rheumatology and has authored/co-authored over 650 publications as original research, reviews and book chapters. He has received multiple international research awards including the Carol Nachman award for Rheumatology and the Elise Jourdevant prize.

Professor Conaghan will explain where the pain of OA comes from and what can be done to reduce it. The talk will also reference the new NICE guidelines for OA treatment. Join us from 6.15 with refreshments or join us at 6.30pm online.
