British Orthopaedic Research Society

The British Orthopaedic Research Society (BORS) is a multidisciplinary association devoted to facilitating collaboration in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal research.

BORS 2025

This years Annual Meeting was hosted at the University of Birmingham on the 8th and 9th of September 2025.

This year’s research theme is – ‘Concept to Clinic’ – showcasing research on the facilitation, translation, and delivery of innovative technology and therapies to practice. Our aim is to emphasise cross-disciplinary aspects of research, engaging academics with diverse areas of expertise, practitioners, and industrial partners working to address the emerging challenges in orthopaedics today.

Conference venue – The BORS conference was hosted at the University of Birmingham campus in Edgbaston and held right next to the Green Heart, within the new Teaching and Learning building. On-campus accommodation is close by at the Edgbaston Park Hotel and we have excellent transport links with a dedicated train station allowing quick access to the city centre and beyond.

Local attractions – we have several cultural attractions on campus or nearby including the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, the Lapworth Museum, and Winterbourne House. Further afield there is Cadbury World at Bourneville as well as Birmingham city centre and the historic Jewellery Quarter. The Edgbaston campus is also situated along one of Birmingham’s historic canals for scenic walks.
